Desiree is a 16-year product of Adventist Christian Education, and a second generation teacher.  After completing her bachelor’s degree from Oakwood College, she began her career as a 2nd grade teacher at Ramah Jr. Academy in Cleveland, Ohio.  Since that time she has served as a classroom teacher for 18 years; Site-Coordinator and Project Director of a summer Literacy Day Camp program called “Freedom School”; Superintendent of Education for Central States Conference, and Associate Superintendent for Potomac Conference. She’s committed to Adventist Christian Education and believes the words of Isaiah 54:13. “And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be the peace of thy children.”

YouTube Time Machine (YTTM) is an exclusive video-sharing website for those whose interests are in history, literature and social studies. With this resource, students can explore any topic within a specific period of time. It acts as a facilitator for teachers who can now just give a topic to students for a particular era and they can easily look through with YTTM. They can easily browse through the history using the timeline on the website and watch any video on any given topic.

BetterLesson
BetterLesson is a Boston based social media platform that allows educators to create, organize and share their curricula, lesson plans and classroom materials. This educational tool enables the teachers to share knowledge, exchange ideas and get feedback from other educators.

ClassDojo
ClassDojo is a class management tool to supervise behavior of students in the classroom. Using this tool, teachers can give performance points to students in a real-time manner. They can send prompts like “Fantastic job David” or “Kim, not appreciated!” to instantly notify students for their behavior in the classroom. With this platform, teachers can even share the performance and behavior of their students with parents and administrators.
